Default New to the LS430 family - Rims question

Hey all,

I'm soon to be new to the LS family after previously owning a supercharged IS300 with 380whp. I know I've got a lot of stuff to read over as I spent the best part of a year learning about my IS beforehand.

However, my first question is regarding rims. I know the LS is a bit more 'grown up' than the IS and I want to get some opinions on whether my 18" Rays Gramlight 57F-Pro's will suit the car. Unfortunately I don;t have the LS yet, and have just had a good offer on the rims, so I'm not sure what to do.

Thoughts?

I'm thinking they might be a bit too 'sporty'?

I think the wheels would look alright on an LS. It depends on the look you want to go for.

If you can sell the wheels and make good money on them, that wouldn't be a bad idea.

Try them on the car. Check the front brake clearance and see how much of the (large) LS430 wheel hub will show.

Just sell everything an just start over with a new look, what ever you make on selling the part just put it back towards the LS. That's what I'm doing with my other car. Just a suggestion tho....but nice IS and GL with your future LS

i would sell them and get a different look... i don't mind the spokes design for a wheel on an LS430 but i think there should either be more spokes or much thicker spokes... it leaves way too much room to see the stock brakes...

besides, check out the 1010 tires calculator cuz i believe the LS430 over tire diameter stock may be an inch or two more than your IS wheels are and this would really through off your speedo.

congrats by the way.

Sell em. If you got a nice offer on the table sell em, then start with a fresh look on the LS

I find that the sporty looking rims don't suit the big-bodied LS very well. A friend of mine, and a member on this site, swapped rims for a few hours. He has 19" Axis Shines on his 2nd gen GS300 which is a pretty similar design as the ones in the picture above. In my opinion, they didn't look right on the LS though keep in mind the tires are undersized. Sorry for the iPhone pics

Thanks for all the replies guys. Yeah judging by that picture above I don't think the wheels will suit the car. Time for an upgrade
