Maybe Sewell would do a group buy on these?

I think the price on the storage compartment has varied somewhat over time. If I needed one, I would check back with the online site each week or so and see if price changes. Or maybe call the online manager for Sewell parts and see if they might be willing to provide a better discount to a CL member for the part. They are good folks and are usually very helpful for CL members.

I would definitely do for the $118 price shipped. $255+ shipping?.... I could find some other things to do for that price, however it is a great compartment. I agree that it should come from the factory with the velvet compartment. I know people smoke in their cars, but that is not the majority of people. Maybe it was more cost effective to do the ashtray? Idk, but I have the money to get it, but does $255+ on a compartment make sense right now in life, eh, maybe for a nice Christmas present for myself

For 255 smackers someone from Sewell should drive to my house, massage my feet, make dinner, and THEN install the damn tiny box.

Grrr.

I just pulled the ashtray out and set my phone in the unlined compartment. I don't think $200+ is worth it. it's a nice car and I enjoy it, but the logic that some use on this site (that you bought a $70k car so you should just keeping spending) is just wrong. I didn't buy mine new and from what others say, they didn't either. I put a lot of miles on a car each year (55k+) and need something that is older, with low miles and will last a good 3-4 years. (So I can run up the miles on it and still have something that has equity in it.). The LS can't be beat. I couldn't afford this car new. So buying a 7 year old car with 40k miles on it, keeping it for 3-4 years while putting 200k on it, then trading it in to get 7k less then I paid for another one thats around 7 years old sounds like a wise move. Spending 200+ on a velvet lined box to hold a $200 phone or iPod is just a little over the top. I'm now coming down from my soap box.

Maybe if the box came with an ipod...

Well looks like my plans on getting my storage box goes out the window in 5, 4, 3, 2......

Guess I will have to wait until a trade in comes through the dealership that doesn't need the fancy little box anymore

That's the $2,550 version of the little velvet box.

(Let's see if I can manage to quote your post without trashing it...)

I called Sewell and talked to the "Club Lexus rep" . I got mine for 185.xx but that was 6 months ago, prices varies

I was considering buying one for my LS but currently does not make a difference for me. I have my Dakota Digital gauge installed where the ashtray used to be.

We are getting there in price! Lol. Much better price that $255, yet still an expensive price and $200 with shipping. However, I do say thank you for making it a little more affordable.
