Hey guys, quick question here
I just got a 2004 ls430 in Ohio, beautiful car but no winter tires. Im looking for the cheapest 16 inch rims that would fit and your opinion on what tire I should use, I'm thinking Nokian wr but what do you guys think?
I don't care if the rim is aluminum chrome steel or wood, as long as it's cheap and fits the car well... Thoughts on where to get them? Thanks I'm advance guys.

You are going to have a hard time find just any wheel to fit the LS due to the size of the front calipers. I would suggest that if you're set on going with a 16" tire, you run the LS430 16" wheels. Or another option would be to run the stock wheels with winter tires and either change over the tires every winter/spring or go bigger wheel with a dedicated summer tire.

I'm running 17" Michelin X-ice 2 on 2001 factory painted wheels. The tires run a bit rough but are awesome in snow and ice. The Primacy Alpin PA3 are supposed to run quieter and handle better, but with somewhat less snow and ice traction. Go to www.michelin.com and enter your info.

Bro ya really need winter tires in Ohio? I would just get some good new all season tires, the Goodyear comfortred touring are 500 bucks at sears(mt balance etc). if ya R looking for cheap(mistakes abound with this attitude last wood rims I got warped with moisture) why need a second set of rims?. 17 inch is just fine why go to 16 inch to be so **** and look for cheap?

^^
I think he said he got the car in Ohio, but his location says Texas, which makes the winter tire question even stranger - except for the ice they tend to get down there. But, if he was in Ohio, northeast Ohio, from Cleveland eastward, is a snowbelt area.

I am working on this as well in Iowa. I have a 2004 LS430, The trouble is finding wheels to fit the large front calipers as previously stated. Unfortunately for me, I can't find any used LS rims in my vicinity. I had a shop quote me a price of $150/wheel from a company called "Ultra Wheel" that makes a wheel specifically for winter.

I put about 1,500 miles a month on my car, and he suggested Nitto NT-SN2 tires due to their cross siping, compounding and cost. He quoted $123.00/tire installed. I found them online with free shipping:
www.tirebuyer.com
He suggested 215/60/R17 as the closest to the stock 225/55/17 that I have for summer tires
Good luck in your search. I understand your desire to save on the cost of the winter rims, but I don't want to put crappy / ill fitting wheels on either. I figure the cost of the LS and the performance/longevity that I want from the car warrant not cutting too many corners.
