Default 3m di-noc. anyone used this??? and future plans

i have some plans for my car. i was thinking about matte black di-noc wrapping my whole car. just wondering if anyone has tried this stuff out before or not and what kind of results did they get? i want to matte black the exterior with chrome accents, the following wheels, some sort of suspension, inside redone completly black with all wood accents di-noc wrapped with white carbon fiber. what you guys think?

my 2 wheel choices. leaning more towards option 1.

option 1:

Do a search on "wrap" as a couple of members have undertaken this project. IIRC, one was flat white and the other was flat almond gold.

I've done the 3m carbon wrap on my bike.

Pretty easy to use. Remember to use a heat gun for curvy area to stretch it out.

Doing a flat trunk or roof top should be pretty straight forward. I would estimate cost to be about $25 worth of material for the trunk. A bit more for the roof top as you need to buy a wider sheet which cost more.

bike looks good. im thinking of buying a sheet either for the hood, roof, or trunk just to test on a decent size area thats like you said easy enough to do, just to test it out. i think it will look really good all matte black with just very suttle accesories in chrome. i wanna try and go vip but i dont wanna go overboard like most of what ive seen. i wanna keep everything very simple and ver clean, as well as make it uniqe to me and what styles i like.

I wrapped the interior and some exterior parts on my previous car and its super durable and pretty easy to work with. I bought a cheapo heat gun at harbor freight and it does the job (just dont heat it for too long.

My troubles came when trying to wrap the corners....it needs some patients and some precise cutting to get the corners wrapped right.

besides that, its great!

How difficult is this stuff to remove later? I was thinking of vinyl wrapping my LS for a show but wanted to go back to the original paint after. Would it be hard to peal off and would it leave any residue behind?

Peels off pretty clean, at least for the 3M version. Just use goo-off or similar product to get any residual stickiness off. Usually just with a heat gun, you can just peel the entire sheet off.

Also, kind of acts as a scratch guard as minor abrasion would be on the vinyl and not on the car.
