thanks again for all the info i've gotten so far, even just in this thread.

there are a couple things i have to get done to the car already. looks like some of the LED's went out in the L/R tail light. i already have another one. i just have to find some time to install it. and the dealer only gave us one key. i bought some keys on ebay. just have to get to the dealer to have them programmed & cut.

This is one of my biggest fears - I just know that I'll finally find the LS I want to pull the trigger on and that I'll just be unhappy with the seats. I'm coming from a long line of sportier cars with rather "huggy" seats, not to mention daily driving my S2000 w/minty stock seats for the past 3-4 years. The LS seats by comparison are like a big open chair

There is the issue you cite, of sitting on a fairly wide, flat seat with little in the way of bolsters. Most of us expected (wanted) that when buying a LS. The other issue is that some folks find it uncomfortable to sit on the seat bottom cushion due to hardness, past compression, etc.

my thing is, im trying to compare my wife's 04 ES330 to her 05 LS430 & from what i can remember of her ES, the seats don't feel as supportive/as much padding.

What wheels are those?
Looks like they are from infiniti

This is good to know, before I begin test driving & shopping (which will be a long process) - otherwise I might just assume "that's how the seats are" and get bummed about them. So when people are refreshing their seat, is it with dealer-supplied cushions direct from Lexus, or just aftermarket ones had through an upholstery shop? I deal with a car leather & upholstery joint through my workplace, and do not mind the idea of rejuvenating my seat if it means more comfort & longevity!

Aside from the seat covers having creasing & marks on them, I always thought it'd be tough to judge the wear on the LS seats, since there isn't really a lot of bolster height for wearing down.

I think the more critical things to judge on the interior are whether the steering column up/down & in/out adjustments work smoothly, all the mechanical seat adjustments work, and the mirrors smoothly adjust and fold in/out. The driver memory and parking options may adjust all of these items every time the car starts and stops. All of these items can fail due to the constant use. Some folks swear by these features. Others of us have disabled the features.
