Happy Thanksgiving LS430 Owners - Post Up Travel Pics
Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow LS430 owners! I hope you all enjoy happy times with your family, take the opportunity to give thanks for all the blessings in your lives, and have safe & fun travels.
Speaking of travels, many of us are likely to be on the road this weekend. Try to remember to take a picture of your car at your destination and then post it up in this thread. I have three Thanksgiving dinners to attend over the long weekend (well, I'm hosting one of them on Sunday). The festivities start this afternoon at my son's home. It seems that his future mother-in-law informed his fiancé that they are hosting Thankgiving Dinner today. LOL This ought to be fun since I've never met his future in-laws.
We're supposed to have sunny skies and temps in the mid 50s for much of the long weekend. I plan on starting the holiday by washing both cars before taking the LS430 on the road. It's a shame that I already put winter tires on the Prius and it will have to stay parked all weekend due to the warm weather. Don't want to wear down those winter tires, ya know.

Came from school (North Chicago, IL) back home for the long weekend (Ann Arbor, MI). It normally should take 4-5 hrs, but ended up taking me 7 hrs (of non stop driving) last night lol. On top of that we just had a biochem final that day and I was running on 2 hrs of sleep...good times. The 430 is a phenomenal long distance cruiser, still comfy after that long trip and makes sitting in traffic pretty stress free. Sadly I have no pics of myself falling asleep at the wheel during that commute...
That said happy Thanksgiving all, and enjoy the 430 today Caddy!

I had a good dinner with my son, his fiancé, her parents, and a few of her other relatives. We've established that the young lady can cook - at least with help from her mother.
It never warmed up much and I could have driven the Prius - I suppose. Here's the required pic of the LS430 with my son's Denali (and the silly fender ports put on by the previous owner). A pic of his house, too - much nicer than my first house.

Here's where my 430 ended up for thanksgiving....filled her up today so I guess you can say she's sleeping after a large (15.8 gal) meal.
Side note: The previous owner of your son's Denali was not one who was blessed with the gift of sight....those side fender ports are nauseating

What, everyone else staying put except for Carguy and me?
Lexus pic from my sister-in-law's farm. The place is crawling with cats and I think I managed I picture without any. There's also a few pics from my brother-in-law's shop where he builds historical cannons (he built the cannons and was cannon master for "The Last Samurai") and, on the side, restores military vehicles. Here's a fully functional 1959 heavy-duty tow and the frame of a WWII Jeep. He's also restoring a WWII Higgins boat which he stores at Camp Perry.

i only drove 55 (110 round trip) miles and didn't really see any photo ops during that time nice pics though caddyowner...
we've got the LS430 and a toyota scion xa presently. i find it funny how many people have a combo similar to this (i.e. the prius)... cuz the xa gets like 39 mpg (at least when i drive it she does ). i have thought long about getting that new prius as the wifes next car but it seems they are pretty popular and i can't ever seem to find a steal on one yet.

There are some good deals right now, especially on the east and west coasts. Toyota ramped up 2011 Prius production and they were delivered to the dealers just in time for the hybrid market to dip due to the low gas prices. Plus, the 2012 regular Prii are not in dealerships yet. While I bought my Prius at the end of August when most all dealerships had waiting lists and were changing MSRP or higher, there are now discounts and immediate delivery. 2012 will have some styling changes, SofTex instead of leather in the higher trim levels, and artificial engine noise when in EV mode (no more stealth mode).
