Check vsc light...possible causes?
#2
Best case: loose or corroded battery cables or a failing battery. Worst case: If the CEL isn't on it's probably something minor. You could try resetting the VSC and see if the Check VSC comes on again. The procedure for resetting the VSC has been posted on this forum before ... On an LS430 it requires "jumping" a couple of pins with a short length of wire.

Hey Kansas...
Check engine light is now on...Came on yesterday...Auto Zone tested...Got 3 different Troubleshooting codes...
PO441, 442, 446...All 3 pertain to EVAP system...system small leak detected...system vent control circuit.
All 3 codes include vent solenoid malfunction as probable cause...
Have not yet tried to reset VCS light...Thought I'd wait till I got the CEL problem fixed, hoping the VSC light would then go away...AUTO ZONE DOES NOT CARRY THE PART...I've checked on line but cannot locate...
What and where is this part located??? Clueless in Las Vegas...Bobby...

Jumper worked
My 2002 showed the “VSC off” warning. I tried resetting and clearing with techstream. But it did not clear. I finally tried jumping the two pins in the obd socket. That worked. Thanks for the info! Re-posting the correct pin identifications copies from this thread...
ign off, jump the two pins. Start engine and confirm ABS flashes fast and dash reads VSC Test. Shut off the engine and remove the jumper. Done!
