I was 18 when I got the LS back in 06', now I'm 23 i think? I've lost track on my age after 21...

I've been asked/pondered this quite a few times. The only real upgrade would be a Maybach or Rolls Phantom, so I must decide between the 2 eventually....

In all seriousness, I don't think I can ever go back to a non-flagship. Working my butt off in school now so hopefully in a few yrs (when the current flagships become affordable) I will be able to continue driving these wonderful cars.

That's a good point. I guess I would just get another LS or go for an S class Mercedes. It's going to be hard to go back to low end cars like an Accord or a Camry.

Yea your right but I was thinking about a BMW 650i I just love the luxury and performance of it. My friend has a 645i and we switch cars all the tyme. Don't get me wrong because the new ls's are nice I got into one yesterday when I got my oil changed at the dealer, just love how the inside looks.

Since I'm one of those young guys Jabberwock is referring to (cough, cough) I'll add that I probably won't buy another flagship sedan when my LS430 needs replacing. My needs have changed and I'll probably go back to a domestic pickup, SUV, or maybe something as nice as an RX450h.

Hmmmm, looks like I get the dubious prize for highest age listed so far (in my sixties) but have learned much from all you younger guys/gals. Guess that disproves the old adage of not being able to teach an old dog new tricks.

Have been driving Lexus LS's going back to the very early 90's and loved every one of 'em. I really think they transcend age although as CarGuy says, most forum posters are not necessarily Lexus's target market in that most of you are 20 - 50 (sorry Jab and Caddy) and street smart beyond your years. The information/diy's/tips, et al posted here have been invaluable to yours truly - Thanks !

At this point in my life, just like a good woman, it's not the years but the mileage which has to be watched carefully, however, just like w/ our LS's, proper maintenance cures a lot of ills ...

I'm 71 and have had the 05 LS since the end of 05,, was Benz and Beamers prior,,

I found our bodies are a tad different than cars,, good service does not keep the performance UP for ever,,)

48 - bought a 2001 with 90K on it 3.5 years ago from original owner. Now at 143K car is still in awesome condition with a front a-arm bushing being the only non-planned item fixed on the car. Otherwise trouble-free cruising for over 3 years.

I'm about to sell it and downgrade to a minivan for business--I can probably get $10k for it, only paying $14K 3.5 years ago.

$4k for trouble-free cruising in an LS430 for over 3 and a half years and over 50K miles-- not too bad. I purchased the car when gas was well over $4/gal.

We both just turned 50 and have owned our LS430 for a little over 3 years and 45,000 miles. Best car we've ever owned or will ever own!
