Lexus LS Sales Figures YTD way down ...
Hi All -
It's interesting to follow Lexus sales in that my guess is that the LS comprises far less in total volume under the Lexus brand than you might think. It's now down below 5% of total Lexus vehicles sold thru Nov. 2011 (8,512 LS's vs 173,187 Lexus total vehicles sold YTD)

It's also interesting to note the total new LS's sold YTD is down almost 40% over 2010 which wasn't necessarily a banner year either. Sure, we can chalk up diminishing sales to the Tsunami and supposed lack of inventory but methinks the LS badge is more than ready for the 2013 makeover.
Just an FYI ...

My concern is for the LS brand itself. I've been a loyal customer for almost 20 years and am not gonna change now, barring FUBAR on Lexus's part which I don't see happening.

interesting on the sale of the LFA - I wonder if they are posting pre-order numbers or delivery after sale numbers.
just like a football team that lost most of it's Senior starters - Lexus is in the rebuilding/reinventing phase and hopefully will be back on top in a couple years. I think the new look infused with new technology will do wonders for their sales.

They need something to goose the lackluster sales. Running the SC430 basically unchanged for 10 model years from 2001 to 2010 (when they sold apprx 320 SCs) is symptomatic of a brand that needs a kick in the pants to compete. I love the Lexus quality but the current LS460 doesn't inspire me. If my LS430 died today I'd go search for another 06 LS430.

I feel the Ls460 is older now and it wasn't that exciting to begin with... so those numbers don't surprise me. would be interesting to see sales vs. Lease of ls, 7, S and a8. See if the volume of the Germans are leases

Very cool car nonetheless, made metal folding roofs popular (though didn't the Ford Fairlane do it in the 70s or something?)

Haha I believe it. I remember when it first came out (I think I was 12 at the time....) and I thought it was the most high-tech thing in the world with that motorized wood panel rotating to reveal the nav. Nowadays I realize that it is just another item that might break....I guess I get less and less cool every yr.

i still love that sc design, in fact maybe now more than ever. i still turn my head every time i see a clean one. i prolly pay way to close attention to these types of things but i used to see mostly women driving them, now i see an awful lot of men driving them in the past two years.
the SC is still on my list as a possible second car,, however let me caveat this by saying that i couldn't see someone walking into a dealership and paying 'new' car prices for one
