Smile Ride hight switch, 430UL

On my 01 430UL, what does the high/low switch do ? when I set it to high, I hear an air pump come on, but no change in heigth.

It's supposed to raise the car up a little. Supposed to....

Because the car does not have a reserve air tank, the compressor must fill up each air strut...very slowly. After about 2-3 minutes the car should be an inch or two higher.

Open the drivers door while stationary and put your left foot on the ground while remaining seated. Activate the high switch and you can then feel the car rising. While looking at an object with the door as a reference you can see it raise also. This will only take a few minutes.

At least that's the way my 04 UL works.

The only time I ever throw that switch is when I want to wash the car - gives me an extra inch or two of space to clean the fenderwells.

I can tell if if I hit the switch and not aware just by looking at the side of the car,, a lot more clearance between the top of the tire and the fender lip,, very noticeable on my 05,,
