My in-laws in Japan have the Crown Royal Saloon (different grade of crown), 2003, IIRC. The rear looks identical to my 05 LS430, front is slightly different (center portion of the hood is raised higher than the outer portions, opposite as one the LS. I've looked at the instruction manual...same features as in the LS430 ultra...massage rear seats, rear cool box, same buttons on the front console above the shifter. The only real difference is it comes w/ a 3.0L V6 and has a shorter wheelbase than the LS430, maybe 4" less rear legroom. The Celsior was introduced AFTER the LS400 was introduced. People in Japan wanted an equivalent top-end luxury sedan, and since Lexus was not sold in Japan at that time, Toyota introduced it as the Celsior. The Celsior continued with the LS430 line, but was terminated with the introduction of the Lexus line in 2007 along with the LS460. Last I saw from a few years back, the LS460, GS, and IS were the only Lexus models sold (no LX, GX, ES, or RX). Those are sold under the toyota line.
