Finally installed my USA-Spec Toy15. Help please, display not as expected
IT sat around so long I finally decided to pay someone to just install it for me. It sounds great and I can use all the controls on the nav screen and steering wheel so thats good. Also upgraded my Sub again, this time to an 8 ohm so now Im not cutting out anymore and everything sounds excellent. But Im having a problem.
I have lots of playlists. On the nav screen display, It only shows as 9 discs. #9 I cant even access, 1-8 have no name or info whatsoever. When I get into them and play a song, the song info is at least displayed. 8 shows just (Direct Ipod) and thats it. No song or library info, nothing. I cant see any of my other playlists, any of my other song names, nothing. This isnt what Id call full integration as I cant see squat as to what Im playing, what Im skipping forward or back to, the names of my playlists etc, nada. I had done a good deal of research before going with the USA Spec and was confident this would not be the case.
What am I doing wrong?
Next up for me is to install a similar kit in my GX470 along with a DVD bypass kit. Now I have serious reservations about the USA Spec, yet even my installer told me I had made a good choice and was happy to install it for me as theyre usually very good kits. So can someone please help me to get the info I need on my screen so I can truly have Ipod integration and see what I am playing, see my playlists etc.?
TIA

So in all of Club Lexus land, Im the only one using a USA Spec PA15, even though it was recommended to me here and I had never heard of it before that? No one else has one?

I had the PA15 in my Avalon (JBL with Sub) which I just sold and bought the 430. Had it installed for less than a week then yanked it and sold it on FleaBay.
I thought it sounded like crap! Dead and lifeless to me so I'm looking at other options.
If it sounds good to you that's all that matters since it's your car and your dime. But for me there HAS to be something better. I asked about sound quality on another thread about a different solution but haven't gotten a reply.....yet.....

I have an 03 LS with the USA SPEC but don't have nav. Otherwise I would have responded to you. Mine only shows the playlist by number... i.e. 1-8. When a song is playing, it will display the artist and title. The first 7 playlists are playlists in your ipod. The 8th is the direct play which allows direct control of the music from the Ipod.
I switch from 7 to 8 and then change the music on the ipod to what I want to listen to. Then I switch it back to number 7 which allows me to then change the songs with the steering wheel controls. Its not a perfect system but works a whole lot better than FM modulators and it charges as well.
I assume you have playlists named in your Ipod or Iphone? What are you wanting to happen? Your individual named playlists to be shown? I don't see why it matters really....
