255/35-21
255 is the width of the tire in millimeters
35 is height of the sidewall as a percentage of the width (35% of 255)
21 is the diameter of the wheel the tire is made for
Use this if you want to compare tires sizes and their dimensions: http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp or this http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

255 = width of tread in millimeters. 30 = tire sidewall height expressed as a PERCENTAGE of the width, otherwise known as the ASPECT RATIO. So a 255/30 has a 255mm tread width and a sidewall that is 255(.3) = 76.5mm or 3 inches. Add the rim height of 21" and two sidewall heights (3" x 2 = 6") and you get the total diameter of the tire = 27 inches. Note that changing the tire width while keeping the aspect ratio the same will affect the total height of the tire/rim!
You'd better get a full understanding of tire/rim sizes, specs, AND the implications of them before your order ANYTHING or you will regret it.

Forgot to mention, if you want to go thinner on tires, you can go 295/25/21, for the rear that is. For the fronts, the thinnest would be 255/30/21. It's all in your taste in how you want the tires to look fitted on the wheels, ie. meaty, stretched, low profile, and such.
@ mrsandman I think a 295 is alittle to wide for what i want to do to the car
Still searching and it's not looking good. I mite be changing my mind lol
