Left in the cold
Hey everyone, if you ever want to find out if anything is loose in your car or if any of your bulbs are about to die due to a broken fillament just spend a few days in Montreal. The streets here are brutal, coupled with trying to park on streets that have not been plowed it is a real workout for your car. Current temp at night is around -5/-8 C. I have noticed that in the morning on warm up there is a distinct fuel smell in the cabin. This has never happened before. The idle rpms are around 1400 for the first minutes and once the car is warm the smell goes away. Can anyone tell me whats going on.
Back home the Lex is garaged every night summer and winter. Is this her way of telling me that she does not like being left out at night?

Simple, your car does not like Quebec ..... most Ontarians don't like Quebec.
After you wash the rediculous amount of salt they use off your car, you'll find your front and rear bumper all nicked up from their careless parking.
The gas you smell in your car is the car running richer to warm up ( a guess ) and the metal shrinking from the nasty cold, and the rubber seals allowing the odors into the cabin. Bring your LS back to Ontario before it's too late !

Fuel smell could just be exhaust leaking into the car because you parking where wind is blowing the exhaust under the car and towards the front, perhaps your near snow and it preventing exhaust from escaping properly... or just too darn cold....
