Somewhat correct. However, only the UL had cooling for the rear seats. The other models with perforated rear seats did not have cooling, only heating.

I've seeing a lot of wood steering wheels for the last month or so because I am shopping, most of them are slighter different tint than the rest of the wood in the car. Just a couple I saw have the same coloring. One of the salesmen I drove with mentioned that tan color interiors have orange or orangy color wood. So far it seems to be true statement for me.

Regarding the color differences of the wood with different color leather, the wood may look different just because of the contrast to the black or gray???

Fronts are heated/cooled.
Did later UL models get cooled rear seat surfaces?

Lol IDK why that would detract a black/black lover from aquiring one of these beasts. Too hot? 5% tint will solve that problem, along with the car's extremely powerful A/C. Lol if anyone has a black/black 04-06 LS as flawless and mechanically sound as mine, with the same miles, I'll trade you straight up.

Don't know what year the rear seat cooling was added, but it's there in the 2004 model. Since that was a year of a new body, suspect it occurred then.

I just bought a 2004 LS430 CL with black on black. 100k miles and nearly mint but a few chips on the hood. I was looking for saddle because I have a 2002 SC430 black on saddle and love the color combination, especially with the top down. When I bought the SC it took a long time to find the black/saddle option.
However, I'v beginning to think I like the black on black better in a sedan and would choose it again. The interior wood is even nicer than the SC and the black really sets it off.
BTW, the steering wheel on my LS looks like the one pictured in this post -- it is a bit lighter than the rest of the wood. My SC is close to an exact match. In looking at a number of LSs before making this purchase, I saw a good number of them where the steering wheel wood didn't quite match perfectly. I doubt that they all had airbag deployments. Seems like they wouldn't have to replace the entire wheel to replace the airbag anyway, but I don't know.
You would think with a car as expensive as the LS they would be more careful about matching the wood. Still, this is the nicest car I've ever driven and I forgive it this one flaw.
