Default ML Deteriorated. Only dash tweeters left original.

Since I bought my car in 2008, sub and both front speakers were blown and changed short after to aftermarket. Fast forward to now. Again changed my fronts to 6.5" Alpine S-Type components powered by 4 channnel Kenwood amp. When I installed fronts I decided to check on rears. To my surprise they were blown, totally, with paper pieces from the cone in the door panel speaker grille. So i ordered 4" Alpine S-Type coaxial speakers, they had great reviews online, low rms power rating since they will run off stock ML amp and I liked how my 6.5" Alpines sounded.
Today I finally installed rear speakers. They fit great, right where the old one was with a very minor modification. Now system sounds amazing, clear and loud, just what I wanted.
Now only dash tweeters are left stock. Just for future reference, how do I change these?
Also, is it possible to get a signal from an ML headunit to an aftermarket amp? Now my amp gets signal from rear speakers.

P.S. dynamat helped alot with the whole system, it's much tighter and louder.

I've also been wondering about this as well. I haven't heard anything about hooking up an aftermarket amp to the ML headunit.

I'm pretty sure that if you Carefully pry the grills at 7 and 5 there is way to get in there. I think Roman had a write up on that.

Can anyone confirm that ? Can you replace tweeters that way, or just look that them (size of the opening) ?

I thought i was the only one with blown front speakers , the right side speaker blew the next day i bought the car and now the driver side is rattling too!

What speakers do i get if i don't wanna run an aftermarket AMP, i wanna keep the stock amp in place.

It was a dilemma fom me when I was deciding whether to run all speakers off stock amp or add an aftermarket one. I went with the 2nd option for reason: 1. Stock speakers replacements are too expensive 2. Impossible to find an 8ohm speaker with close specs to original speaker as your amp will overheat with powerfull aftermarket speakers 3. You will get a much better sound with new aftermarket speakers powered by a good aftermarket amp 4. Dynamat will work wonders.
So I would not put an ML amp in jeopardy, it's very expensive and your nav will not function without it.

In order to change the tweeters on these cars you HAVE TO REMOVE THE DASH There is no getting around it. In fact I spent my entire weekend trying to get to these speakers. They are mounted from underneath and there is no way to access the bolts without removing the dash itself.

So has anyone actually tried or was successful in removing the dash?
