2001 LS430 has a hard downshift.
My 2003 LS430 I purchased a year ago with 85k miles on it now has 92k miles. Though it’s very very subtle, the car has a very slight clunk when it downshifts. Not a sound clunk, you can just feel it. You have to really be in tune with the car to notice it though. My wife doesn’t notice it, and I can’t pick it up when I am a passenger. The records show that the previous owner drained and filled the trans twice at lexus (30 and 60k miles). I had the trans fluid checked while getting my a/c recharged at the local Toyota dealer today and they said it looks to be in good shape.
Any advice? Should I flush the trans? Drain and refill? Or just leave it alone?
