We're all LS430 nuts, right? We can be divided into two big groups: (1) those who appreciate the luxury qualitiies of the car, and just drive it; (2) those who appreciate the vehicle, and, for various reasons, choose ro "save" the car and minimize the mileage. I'm interested in finding the members who have, by their own description, the best "showroom" examples of the marque...okay, I'll go first: 2004 LS430 Premium, 22xxx miles, as new condition...next???

My '04 has about 33k miles, it's mint and I'm trying to keep it that way.
I do drive it, fortunately I don't have the need for a big commute so it gets babied, garaged, and taken for nice leisurely drives.

Hate to give you the bad news but most everyone here, as far as I can tell, are in group 1. It is a nice car but it's built and bought to DRIVE, not to sit around and be cleaned and polished and kept in showroom condition.
Either you don't work, have a very short drive to work ( or walk or take public transit to work ), have other cars, have nowhere to go, or can't afford the gas ..... just kidding. Please tell us why don't you drive your car less than 3000 mile/year ?

I saw one last year about this time in a parking lot that was mint. Asked the owner about it. It was from North Carolina. It was a fully optioned 01 he had bought for his wife and she had passed away. On the clock....8000 miles. Made him an offer on the spot that he would not take. He has my name and phone just in case.

I think there may be a third category. The owners who appreciate and drive their cars for usage and enjoyment, but also go the extra step in caring for the car to keep it in near showroom condition, mechanically and appearance wise. I have 81,000 on my 04 UL, but to me it is in perfect mechanical condition with no known discrepancies and has the interior appearance of a new car. Granted I do have a few paint chips on the exterior, but that's about the extend of it. It has never been touched by anyone other than the Lexus dealer for service and maintenance. I do get my Michelin tires at Costco and have them rotated and balanced every 5,000 miles or wherever it feels like they need it.

I agree with jayclapp on the third category, as we are members of that.
We don't have an LS (admired highly though), as we just purchased an IS (to see if the "Lexus hype" is true. So far, yes).
However, we have a 95 MB E320 that just rolled 100k miles (on a trip across the country, no less!) and it looks like a 2, maybe 3 year old car. The interior looks brand new (seriously). There are minor paint chips on the front and that's it. We always keep it fully serviced, following the recommended intervals (more now on time than useage).
I can't tell you how many times people have been absolutely shocked when they find out it's a 1995.
I think if you take care of a car, it doesn't matter how many miles you put on it. My momma always taught me that it's not about having what you want, it's wanting what you have.
