Lexus Park Assist Problems on EXTREME hign temp days
I live in Central Texas and this is my first summer with a newly purchased 01 ls430 ultra luxury with 120k in with the dark blue exterior.
Intermitantly (once every few weeks so far) when the temperature exceeds 102 degrees and the car has been baking in the sun for several hours the right front park assist will sound/display wrongfully when driving slowly or stopped at a traffic light.
Once the car cools down by the wind of driving, or is put in the shade for a while the phantom right front parking alarm completely goes away.
I have tried polishing the sensors.
I was wondering if any other members have experienced a Lexus Park Assist issue in "extreme heat".
Do you think if I switched the system off and only used on demand in tight parking situations that it would preserve the system since current would not be flowing through the system?
If the problem does not get any worse I will not seek a repair due to $$. I will simply start usind the Park Assist on demand when necessary in the very hot weather and leave it on all of the time in autumn, winter and spring.
PS, I also get intermitent phantom rain-sensing wiper swipes in extreme heat (102+) so I leave them off (it never really rains around here anyway due to a severe drought condition).
Please share thoughts.
Thank you,
Stephen
