At what MPH should I hear wind noise?
I have a 2004 LS 430 that has been in no reported accidents. Starting at around 60 MPH on the highway I start to hear slight wind noise, apparently coming from the driver's side door, and at 80 MPH it's quite audible. Is this normal?

No wind noise at all on my car up thru 100mph. Assuming your car is straight and has had no major accidents with poor repair, you may have loose, torn, or dried out shrunken door seal.

Thanks for the response. If that's the issue, is it easily and reasonably cost-effective to fix?

It could be window seal to. I had the same problem with my previous Lexus GS300 1st gen. I called the Lexus dealer and they are charging 180 euro for changing the rubber... The rubber alone costs 130 euro. In that case, the labor would be cheap.
If you want to fix it yourself, you will have to remove the doorpanel and eventually remove the glass too. I took me like 1.5 hours to change the window frame. But I am a rookie.

I tested 3 05 LS (including mine) all had "slight" wind noise above 60mph from windshield. So I thought that was normal because they were so quiet inside while driving. hmm...I'm so curious to test one without ANY wind noise, how's that possible... :-)

Here are of a couple things I have done to eliminate wind noise:
On my 2001 LS430 UL(150K miles) and now on my 2004 LS430 UL (53K miles) I have noticed the following: If the side windows are completely up (ie. as tight as they will go) they make slightly more wind noise than if I release them just a little. I do this by pushing the window switch just enough to relax the window in its seal, but not enough to open it. It's only a slight difference and it's hard to tell especially under noisy pavement or very windy conditions. Seems like its more noticeable on the front and rear drivers side windows but that may be just because I'm closer to them.
Also, after reading about other posts about wind noise from the top-left-right area of the windshield, I had a strip of 3M paint protectant film applied to my 2004 LS. The guy applied a narrow strip of film ( he actually used the film that was meant to applied to the door edges) on the top and left-right edges of the windshield. Made a world of difference and he only charged me $50.
