Default One Month already with my 04 Cypress LS

I've now had my Cypress LS 430 for one whole month and I love it more each day. I had an 01 ES 300 with 162,000 (RIP it was totaled) and it was the best car I ever owned. Like many of you I have learned the hard way over the years with Mercedes-Benz and the excessive cost of keeping those cars properly maintained and on the road. My LS has just 66,000 miles; new Michelin's and the 60K service was properly done by the previous owner. This car drives beautifully and I am now driving past S Class Mercedes and LS 460's without one sense of envy or desire. I LOVE THIS CAR! Hope I have it many years. I appreciate all the great posts here; hope you like the pictures. No modifications planned other than the Lexus XM satellite radio kit.

Pictures attached; I believe it has the Modern Luxury package (not an Ultra and no radar CC). Pictures were from the dealer before I took it home. No I will not confess to the price I paid; probably too much for you savvy buyers but I got a well cared for car with a good history which is better than a smokin deal on an abused car with issues.

Who knows what life has in store but my intention is to take her beyond 200K miles someday!

Yes, you have the Modern Luxury trim. Honestly, it's got everything a daily driver needs. I have the CL and use the extras very seldom.

Glad you're another happy customer. For me, even when I had my '95 Civic I never even had envy for those MB or BMW drivers. I had envy for Lexus drivers, so that's why I ended up with a RX and LS.

That's a great looking car, my favorite color. Hope you enjoy it for a good long time. And if you feel like you got a fair deal on the car that is all that matters in the end.

I was at Lexus dealer yesterday getting its last dealer oil change (CPO ending in August for my car) . Service adviser was commenting on my car's mint condition, etc. Then completely unprompted the service adviser started talking about how the LS430s were the very best Lexus product they ever built, and how they just don't make them with the same exacting standards anymore - and how he has owners of LS430s tell him they regret getting the newer cars and letting their LS430s go. Interesting admission from a guy that deals with Lexus owners 8 hrs a day, 5 days a week. .

Thanks for the replies! Jabberwock; my deal was in a holding pattern for a few days because the lady that traded the Cypress LS in for a 460 actually wanted her old car back! I've known these guys at Lexus for over ten years so I know it wasn't BS. After nearly a week they called me and said they had made her happy and they could now move forward and sell the Cypress car to me. It almost didn't happen!

I am also enjoying the LS every day. And I too believe I paid a lot for the car. But it's worth it!

Nice car. Like that color on it. It's different and don't see it too often.

Thanks; I appreciate it! a lot of silver, grey, and black LS430's in Arizona so the Cypress Green has turned out to be different without being too far out there!

going to get the updated nav dvd when they release the newest one next month!

After 5K miles, I love the handling, ride, quickness, seat comfort, working seat coolers, updated nav, & ipod integration. I miss the extra interior room, power door & trunk closers, and adaptive cruise of the LS, though. The only problem I've encountered is that the radio occasionally gets confused when talking to my iPod and the radio turns itself off.

Apples to apples so we would be comparing to a 2004 S430; man, there is not much to mention. I would say the Mercedes has a heavier road feel that I like but that's about it. I would not be very confident about the reliability in an eight year old S Class. Nearly everything on the LS is of superior quality. The rear legroom is more substantial in a long wheelbase Mercedes but now I'm reaching.

Anything is possible but I think my Mercedes days are over...

Maybe an SL550 for the weekends if I really hit the bigtime

Congrats on your new purchase. As long as you do your routine maintenance the car will last.
