I say for not having any accidents what's so ever and all service done at a Lexus dealership. Has all the options as the UL minus the reclining rear seats. I think I came out on top compared to other dealers around town asking 21-26k for a ugly color way with higher miles.
I hope the market on these cars stays strong. I feel like they are still depreciating like crazy.
Best of luck.

Having trouble uploading picture up on photo bucket. I spent all of last weekend tearing down the interior of my 05 LS430 and put Dynamat all on every panels and floor. Also dynamated the truck lid. Installed and upgraded all door and tweeter speakers. Installed 0 gauge power and ground wire. Installed 13.5 JL audio w7 with JL audio 1000/1 amp. This weekend going to put on these 20" chrome rims with cubic zirconia on the lip.
Here is the only picture that got upload on photo bucket

What you paid and if you got a "great" deal after the transaction is completed is just water under the bridge. Each of these cars has a unique history and is in unique condition so its market value can be all over the board.
The LS430 is indisputably a great looking looking amazingly well built car. So the real test and the only one that matters over time is if you like that car and if you enjoy driving it for a few years.

No idea what people are paying or what it costs to do the work yourself and buy the parts, but I know on my last LS430 UL (a 2004 which I bought last year for around 20k also) there was a repair receipt in the glovebox for a rear right control arm and air spring (I presume the old lady drove over a curb or some nonsense) totaling somewhere in the neighborhood of $4000.00. That wasn't for the entire system, it was ONE corner. That kind of pricing puts even my '03 Range Rover to shame.
In other words, don't view the ML package as a downer. Yes, the nav is essentially outdated and not very pretty to look at, but there's still a lot of nice features in the ML. In fact, there were only TWO features I REMOTELY cared about on my UL... Dynamic cruise control, and the beautiful extended leather, but I can live without them. Also, the ML audio system is decent, but I don't find it sufficiently increased in quality over the Pioneer to deal with chasing the blown speakers all the time. I don't think you did badly. Those wheels on the other hand...
