Wheels and spacers
Hi Guys
I just bought a LS430 and I am in the wheel market.... My local tire- wheel guy gave me only three options because he said that if I used spacers on this car to clear the brakes, I would feel shaking in the front end.......
Now, I have had spacers on other cars and had no problems, but being he is the "professional" should I heed his advice?
I was going to put 20"s on and the car has not been lowered or modified yet..
Please help
Karl

As much research and development as Toyota did to build such a fine automobile, I wouldn't do anything to jeopardize the ride and handling of that car. Surely there is a nice-looking aftermarket wheel that will work without screwing up the geometry of the factory settings.

I was also wondering that myself. I've got my eyes on some wheels but the front wheels are low disk, which means I'll have to use spacers in front.
But if I am correct, there are quite a lot forum members who uses front spaces. Never read about any handling problems.

I have used spacers on several of the wheels I've owned for the LS430. Project Kics are a high quality choice, just make sure you use the hubcentric ring to reduce the chance for vibration. As far as handling, I never had an issue driving around town or on the highway.
With that being said, I would just find wheels with a high disk to clear the brakes. It's just one less variable to worry about in the end. That is unless you just find an insane deal on low disk wheels. Just make sure you calculate "effective offset" with the spacers. It may not look right if you space out the fronts and leave the rears as is...just depends on the set you look at.

I've ran plenty of spacers in the past...some have given me vibrations, others haven't.
It is truely hit or miss...but buying a decent brand that is hubcentric will help reduce the chance of vibrations
