I have logged 125k on my 04 LS and while I liked the MXV4 in the H rating real well and it never let me down the GY Comfortred Touring with its V speed rating I found to be just as quiet and handled a smidge crisper. It has a better warrantee than the Mich. I would love to drive the V rated MXV4 I bet it is in a class of its own. The Michelin was stellar though I hit a boulder at 70 it pocketed the center of my rim like a 1/4 to 3/8 inch deep ,"toast",and bulged the tire but did not blow.
Anyway 20k plus miles tires look new have perfect wear pattern with yearly Yota dealer alignments and RF balance . I crank er up to 125 on occasion at a strategic spot on Hwy 41 and she is golden. With the recent introduced $ 40 per tire rebate at Sears the are 124 bucks per tire. I put them on my Camry and the wife loved em, good in snow quiet #1 rated by Tire Rack the Primacy is right behind at # 2. Either way both great tires one just dirt cheap.
Watch the rebate I sent in two last year had to call on the second got some BS and they finally sent me my second 160 dollar check. Thanks Warm

Under Grand Touring Tires, Tirerack still rates the Primacy MXV4 as #1 with Comfor Tred as #2. The Primacy has racked up almost 12 million miles for the survey while the Comfor Tred 2.5 million. I'm sure it's a very good tire also, but after driving on the V rated Primacy's on my LS430 I could not be happier. I also think that the V rating over the H rating on the Primacys do make a difference with slightly crispier handling, although still not a performance tire. I'm plannning on replacing my girlfriend's G35 RSAs with the Primacys as well.

The MXV4 V rated are 196 bucks and usually there is a 70 dollar rebate(Sears). Me, I know how nice both drive, I will save the 200 bucks plus and keep getting Goodyears at 6-7 32's hoping Sears runs this sale every autumn.
Last time I looked the Goodyear was 1 and Michelin 2 they must flip flop. If you are on a budget the Goodyears are a good choice but you will see this sale once a year only at Sears.
Never can go wrong with Michelin. I have had the Exalto, Hydroedge, Energy S8 tire a couple of times, Ax4 I remember and they are always predictable and solid fantastic tires.

The miichelins go on sale with the $70 off a set of 4 every few months at Costco. With the unlimited balances and rotations, its probably is a wash after a few years of ownership. For me, tires and brakes are one area that I want the best and the safest regardless of price.

Boca, Does Costco do your brakes? You have a pretty sweet deal with the unlimited balances though with the alignment done right a RF balance will last pretty long. I just like to go to my dealer for most everything but even their buy 3 get 1 free tire deal is not as cheap as Sears 160 back deal and they understand when I bring em the balance work and the alignment and nitro. I may get to Sears once or twice for rotations and talk to those guys a while when I go to the mall but I want the same group of techs working on my car under Lexus master techs Scott or Carl.
No Costco's by me but I just find Walmart, Tires Plus, Firestone, we have a Sams doesn't work as well when I patronage my dealer they know it and cut me loaner cars like Corolla's and Yaris's for lengthy one day repairs. Otherwise I swing by the dealer on my way to work for oil changes and rotations and I am out the door in a half hour and it doesn't smell like a tire warehouse I can relax do some work or just watch the bigscreen. Recently my hub needed replacement I got a loaner, the Lexus rotors where 200 a piece they let me ship em in from Tire Rack(Tires also if I wanted to), free flat repairs. 11 bucks labor when I bring in my own Valvoline oil get a Yota filter , nitro if needed and a wash. I recently got a hub done and they seemed pretty fair.
I guess bottom line is I think Michelin are spectacular tires and for the average driver there are some pretty good tires out there now with computerized design and manufacturing. I would like to drive the Michelin v's though but I bet there is only so much a certain tire can do for the big ol cruiser LS when you compare premium tires like Bridgestone, Toyo, etc even Cooper makes a nice tire.

Bought my '04 LS in 12/11. Living in New England I was lucky we ddn't get a lot of snow last year and was able to run the new Goodyear RSA's the dealer had installed. What winter/snow tire would everyone recommend??
Thanks!
Thanks!

Just had a new set of Primacy V's put on Saturday. The $70 rebate expired today so I just got in under the wire. $192.95 ea at a local family shop that is always busy, and no BS.
