Default driver's seat

Anyone know why every time I get into the car - the driver seat bottom drops, all by itself, down as low as it can go ? It means every time I start the car, I have to adjust the seat bottom it back up .... I'm probably wearing out the motor doing this and would love to find out how to stop it.

Thanks

Perhaps your using driver key 2 and the computer is adjusting for the setting programed by that key rather than the ones set by key 1

Interesting .... I have 3 keyfobs for the car and have the Smartkey, ( I think that is what it's called ) so I never really insert a key to start the car. If I understand you correctly, switching to one of the other keyfobs could resolve this issue , so I will try this tomorrow.

Thanks

Smartaccess can be programmed to recognize each key and start resetting the seating position to 1 2 or 3, depending on which the key is programmed to. So, say your wife has key one and you have key two, when your opens the driver's door with the handle, it goes to position 1. When you open, position 2. If you flip flop the keys, you then get the "wrong" seating when entering.
Easier way to check is to just see what positions 1 2 and 3 are on the buttons and see if any is the fully drop position.
Keep mind, that first door opened has to be drivers door, if you open rear door let's say first, then the seat does not set.

AlexusAnja, it was related to the Smartaccess key fob. When I used the second key fob, the seat set up in a completely different ( and way worse ) way ,lol. So I took the third one to the car and .... presto, the seat didn't move ! First time in a year !

I'm very happy, and a big thank you to those who tried and did help.

Your seat will not move with the valet key. You can program your key to your memory settings. It tells you how to do this in your owners manual.

Close the door with you inside press your memory key 1 or 2 and press the unlock button on your smart key. Your car will beep and that key will be programmed to your memory settings. This is a great feature when your wife has her own key and personal settings.

The information is on page 222 in the "Occupant Restraint Systems" section.

THANKS for this.

I saw this section, but didn't read it thinking a section with the title "Occupant Restraint Systems" would not have anything about seat positioning ....
