Cup holder stuck folded in

My cup holder recently got stuck in the folded in (closed) position. Before happening, it would get stuck but then I would tap it a few times before ejecting.

Now it's simply stuck. Any advise? Please help

Hmm, mine won't stay in. I think a broken "arm" for the cup holder needs to catch somewhere? So now I wedge a piece of paper in there to keep it shut :-(
