I am looking at 225/55/17 and 225/45/17 and 225/60/17 only in Michelin. No snow or ice. South Texas. Does anyone see any problem with moving among the sizes? I was leaning to the 255/45's expecting a more responsive and firmer ride. Most importantly I was looking for the best deal; and better deals overcome some difference in performance.
Advice appreciated.

The 225/45-17 will be a 6% difference with a diameter of 24.97 in. You'll get a drop in MPG obviously. The rest are close enough to 3% variance that it is minimal and I doubt you'll notice much sidewall difference between them. What model Michelin?
The Pilot Sport A/S Plus will be the sportier tire that I can think of. Honestly, I think you'll do better going into the 18's and a 245/40-18 tire size. Many choices for a range of budgets there. Wider contact patch and lower sidewall aspect ratio.
