Several times I arrived home and found the driver's side headlight out. Every time I turn on the headlight both work. What is happening? How do I fix this?

Bulb is nearing the end of its life, goes out after a short time. Time to replace both left and right headlight bulbs.

This reciently happened to me. i needed a new battery. I guess the output of the old battery was low and this was the result. The battery was prorated at Lexus and $115 later the new battery solved the problem.

i would agree with ancdmd. This behavior is marked by bulbs on their way out. Those bulbs don't usually go out suddenly like halogens.
