Default repaint question

I have had my 430 for 3 years now and have accumulated quite a few battle scars along the way. there are dents, dings and scratches all around the car. I wanted to know would it be worth while to give the car a whole new spray or just leave it as is. all the blemishes are starting to get to me. I don't now plan to sell this car from a while so i am open to suggestions and opinions

Thank you in advance.

I suppose it depends on the price and the quality of the paint job you want!

a full paint job, done right, to do the LS430 justice, would run you AT LEAST $5k. By done right, I'm talking complete removal of all moldings, glass, doors, and bumpers. Just something to keep in mind in case you were thinking a $600 Maaco job would do. Not saying you were, just sayin in general

You'd be better off just selling the car as is and taking the hit and buying another used one that had the paint in better condition.

Bodywork that's up to the level of how it came from the factory is EXPENSIVE, you're looking at around $5,000, and even then, I doubt it will look as good as it did when it came new.

Maybe post a picture up and let people take a look, you'd be amazed what someone can do with buffing/polishing, I've seen a detailer make a 20 year old faded paint job look like it just rolled off the showroom. Also, a good "paintless" dent removal service can basically take every dent and ding you have on the car for around $300. You can also have small scratches touched up with an airbrush. You'd be better off spending $500 to $600 "restoring" the factory job than stripping it and repainting it.

wow......didn't really look at it like that. that is great advise. 5k is not what i was looking to spend! I will try the road of detailing and dent removal and see how it looks.

A total repaint will nore than likely hurt the resale value without giving you any return on your investment. I agree with trying to give it a a good cleanup with some dentless repairing if necessary and sell as is. No one wants a total repaint these days unless it's and older classic that's been totally restored.

X2 on this one, i mean even a 10000$ paint job cant make it as good as factory. The factory paints the car before the frame, engine, tranny and wiring is even put it.

I would go for the detail job. Please post pics so we can see the condition of your car.
