I'm buying a 2006 LS 430 today. Its spare tire and spare wheel are missing. The used car dealer has agreed to replace them.

I need to know what to enforce that they buy to keep this car original.

Does every LS 430 come with a spare wheel/tire identical to the main four, or is it different in any way? If the car came with the the larger-size Lexus wheel upgrade, did it still get an upgraded spare to match the rest of the upgraded wheels?

I searched and searched and didn't find an answer that gave me confidence.

Pics would also be appreciated. What I need is confidence that this wasn't an option. If it was an option to get a better spare, I'll let the dealer buy the least expensive spare that is OEM and original to this model.

P.S. Here's an image of my wheels, though I'm asking if the matched spare is ever different from the other wheels in my model year, so the picture is probably irrelevant:

Should be a full size spare just as the wheels that are on the car.

all wheels are the same.sometimes dealers swap out wheels and dont change the spare.good thing to check before you buy.

Discrepancy exist sometimes due to people swapping out the main wheels and left the spare as is.

When I got my 02 ul it came with 17's but the spare was a 16" oem rim, I have 18" oems now with that same old ugly 16" rim.

My ultra came w/ factory chrome wheels, as well as a factory chrome spare. The chromes are factory OEM since I have the original window sticker which lists this option. So, yes, I believe the spare should identically match the other four wheels.

I have the 18 inch option wheels and the spare is the same!

My ultra also came with 4 factory 17" chromes + 1 spare identical 17" chrome. I think your spare should be identical to the other wheels.

Thanks for your help, everyone. Dealer will look for a matching second-hand aluminum wheel for my new 2006 LS 430.

Now the trick is finding one. Any tips on where to find one for sale? Haven't found one on eBay yet.

One of the reasons that some spares are missing on used car lots is that many cars go thru car auctions and in the process of transport and being put into a car auction anything that is not nailed, screwed and glued down is stolen prior to the auction. As a result you will find all kinds of things like shift *****, cup holders, extra keys and fobs, emergency kits, car manuals, car jacks, cargo covers from suvs, OEM flashlight, etc. etc. - all magically available on ebay - the modern day open bazaar and flea market for honest folks and for car auction thieves.

jabb,that is true for the spare key.very rare to buy a used anything that has both programable key.

Your spare wheel should be the same as the tire that are mount on the car, as well as the tire. This was a selling point with Lexus flagship auto. I purchased a 2006 that the spare tire was not the same as the other four; the dealer agree to make up the differnce between the two tires; the wheel was the same.

Take nothing for granted, demand nothing less!

This is good to know, the 04 I bought had a little curb damage on one of the rims from the previous owner, next time I'm getting my tires rotated I'm going to see what it costs to have them swap it out with the spare rim.
