Default disconnected wire harness near nav in trunk

2002 LS430

So I just pulled my nav unit from the trunk which has failed, figured for the 15 minutes it takes to pull it take it apart and try a quick fix like clean laser head, lube the slide channel etc - when I did pull the unit out I noticed two wire harness - and one was unplugged these are not the wires that plug directly into the Nav unit but a seperate white harness closer t the other part of the nav unit-

Any idea why this plug would be undone? Should it be undone - perhaps it is a harnes that gets plugged together if you have a UL version?

No clue but hesitant to plug it back together and then fry something. Any Thoughts

also just re-installed the nav unit when the disc is out the screen says the message about no DVD then I put the DVD in - with the outer case off so I could see if motor is spinning - the disc spins for about 30 seconds or so there is a few clicking sounds then it shuts down and the can not read DVD message pops up

The motor is out on your DVD drive there are some threads about it.

I believe that is the right part....

I have a 2002 LS430 and its nav unit wouldn't work any more. Bought a replacement unit on ebay for about $650 and installed it myself. Now it works well again. Good luck.

Thanks for the info on the wire harness and I did order the motor linked above I figured why not try the $50 fix first. It should arrive soon so will give it a go then on to replacing rotors and brakes then subwoofer next.....lol
