I purchased my first LS430 w/Navigation 79K miles (2004) over 6 weeks ago and loving it (drove an Acura RL before). Any know issues I should be looking out for?

Congratulations on your purchase!
I picked up my LS right around the same time you did with almost exactly the same miles.
No major issues to be concerned about. You will have to replace the timing belt around 90K if that hasn't been done already. Other than that basic maintenance is all it'll need.
Enjoy!

Since it wasn't made by GM, it probably won't be leaking oil like all of my GM vehicles did.

- Where are you in Ohio? (I was visiting there today)
- Where is the required picture of your car?
Other than that, you're good-to-go! (We just need to razz newbies a bit in order to get our fix of LS car-****.)

No picture means I never happened...
haha.
'04 has 2 recalls for early production (transmission and fuel pump I believe) so make sure you're not affected. Other than that, pure bullet proof.

Welcome - I bought my 06 LS430 after driving my 1999 Acura RL for 10 years. Had an 89 acura Legend before that - loved both Acuras but did not like current versions so I switched to Lexus. As far as I can tell the only thing you will miss from the RL versus the LS is the lights, The lights on the RL were the best I have seen on any car. MPG is actually better on the LS and its a smooth V8 with more power. Everything else I can think of is a step up on the LS.

I'm on a 2,000 mile road trip in my 2002 LS430. What a magnificent road machine, comfort, power, rear wheel drive, 20 cubic foot trunk, 4 seat heaters. We are in love with this car!

Oh yeah... its a highway cruiser for sure. Did Orlando last time in pure heaven and got 27 MPG doing 75 MPH avg. Was going to do same this time, but with Sandy I got caught low on fuel and unable to refill so had to take MDX and what a difference. More cargo space but that was it. The ride beat me up and got only 19 MPG.

I drove the LS 900 miles yesterday in 15 hours, which included a few stops, mostly at 70-75mph in fairly heavy traffic. It's hard to resist putting your foot in it and listening to that beautiful engine.
