Great info Jim and thanks for sharing your knowledge on batteries. I have owned all 3 of your models with awesome experiences. Got a yellow top in my RX300 that is 4 years old and starts as strong as the day I put the battery in. My LS has a red top, perfection as well. I have the largest blue top in a full size chevy van that uses a pretty large inverter along with several other battery taxing devices. The blue top has been discharged many times below 11 volts and has charged right back up with no ill effects after 3 years. About every 3 months or so I will plug in my CTEK charger to bring it all up to snuff. I cannot suggest it enough for someone to get an Optima battery and a CTEK charger/maintainer. They are truly designed for each other!

All that said, which of your models do you recommend for an LS430?

I would go with either a red top in size 35 or a yellow in a 35B. Personally, I would go with a yellow top.

Today while changing oil I asked mechanic to check my battery. My battery is apperently dead
Still starts the car fine but now I'm looking for a good battery as a replacement.
I guess Optima is great. What's going to be better for my 430, red or yellow top?

Yellow has a longer reserve capacity. It is basically a little bit more durable.

Like i posted earlier, i went from cranking seemingly fine in the morning and days leading up to that night... came out to drive home.... dead. The LS sensors are not going to allow you to crank and crank. If system falls under some voltage min. Then it's done, stuckville.

Don't forget to price out Costco and Wally World. I know WW is made by Johnson controls, comes with 3 year warranty-important if you live in a hot climate like I do in AZ.

Optima batteries are excellent, wouldn't use anything else in my motor cycles. I go off in the wilds on my own, so having a great battery is essential. With the car, I carry jump leads and am never out of civilization, so not such a big deal.

sgretchko, as toyo indicated our fitment guide shows our Group 35 batteries in either YellowTops or RedTops would be an appropriate replacement for the LS 430. If your vehicle is relatively-stock, a RedTop should work just fine. If you have significant aftermarket electrical accessories (large stereo, car alarm, etc...) a YellowTop would be a more appropriate choice. If anyone has any other questions about our products, I'll do my best to answer them.

You guys jinks me! The yellow top in my RX has bit the dust. I don't drive this car very often anymore and it has been sitting with my CTEK on it. I noticed it was taking a very long time to fully charge. Today I went to start it with no luck. I guess 6 years is asking enough.

Today, as Alexus Anja mentioned - out of the blue, my LS refused to crank
Thank God I have my work van near and got a boost off of it. Went to the shop right away, they put an AC Delco Professional battery in. Said that its better than rest for the money, paid $105.
