Default Adding Satellite Radio

I would like to add satellite radio to my newly aquired 2006 LS430. There sems to be so much confusing information about the right way to do this. It seems that it is possible to have it integrated into the existing audio system and display. Will it need a seperate atenna or will it operate through the GPS antenna? Can anyone lead me in the right direction on this issue?
Im new to the club so any help would be really appreciated. Thanks

Have you confirmed that your car isn't already set up(but without current subscription) for xm/sirius? Without a subscription, the SAT button will go to XM channels 000 and 001 as a sort of demo.

If you don't have it, check this thread out.

You can find the whole system adapter kit with antenna on amazon.com for about $190. I just did mine myself on my 04 LS430. Just type in LS430 Satellite radio. As long as your radio has the am-sat button then this kit is all you will need. The sat radio uses a separate antenna. The kit does not show an antenna but it defineately has one in it.

Here is the site for the kit---

I installed the iSimple system in my '04 LS. It has both iPhone and satellite integration. Quite easy to install (you actually MUST read the manual) but I have a couple gripes. The interconnects appear to be S-video cables and pull out fairly easily. Second, the display only shows 10 characters unlike the Vaistech's 16. But I couldn't find a Vaistech that had iPhone and satellite.

Default XM Radio

Guys, thanks so much for the feedback. After looking at the photos posted by MDEC I decided that either I am functionally illiterate OR you are all Supermen! Those photos are not just scary they gave me pains in places I didnt know I had! That said, Im going to let the brain surgeon at my local sterio installer to the surgery.
The upside for me is that the sterio installer is a tenant of my partners family building and I work next door so I dont think he wants to screw up my install knowing he will see me every day!
He jus gave ne a price of $398.00, so it sounds like a good price.

Any comments? thanks

Does the 398 price include the system? If not, 398 for an hour and a half of labor seems extremely high for a plug and play hook up. The hardest part is concealing the Sirius box and antenna wire. Most of us on this forum are not mechanically inclined either. We just follow how someone else did it step by step and when you try it you realize its not too difficult at all. People post the detailed step by step pics and instructions to help people save money by doing it yourself.

Yes it will. I have done it already on my 04 LS. The company missed it by one year. They made a mistake .
