I almost went with BC coilovers with swift springs, but was too worried I would be sacrificing ride quality.

Don't mean to hijack this thread.
I just purchased a new set of 18" tires. Unfortunately, they don't make Primacy MXV4's in 235/50R18 but they do have MXM4s. I opted instead for Continental PureContacts. They are rated by Consumer Reports higher than the MXV4's when considering the V speed tires. The Michelin's are higher when considering the H speed tires.
They typically cost less than any Michelin and I am impressed with the quality so far.

I have put around 13,000 miles on the MXV4 17" primacys within the last 2 1/2 years of 95% city driving in Florida. The tires are wearing evenly with an extremely quiet ride and decent handling for driving an "aircraft carrier". The only downside that I see is that the tread depth is around 7/32nds after only 13,000 miles which is leading me to believe I will need tires around 30,000+ miles. I always replace my tires around 3/32nds as I need some rubber for heavy rain. With a 600 tread wear rating, this tire wears fairly quickly. More than likely I will still get the same tire again when replacement is needed. Tires and brakes are where I won't look to save money on off brand replacements. I had considered the MXM4s but I wasn't crazy about the aggressive tread for noise and uneven wear as well as the tire not being proven however, anything Michelin cannot be bad.

as an fyi, the mxm4 is made with a sunflower oil and i heard rides a drop harder but will last a little longer,
the mxvv4 is a phenomenal tire that exceeds expectations and will save 100 of gas over lifetime vs non michelin tires
good luck

I picked up my 2005 430 at the end of fall 2013 with a full set of the MKV4s, but they appeared to be practically dry-rotted (full of tiny cracks, plus worn through most of their tread) decided to wait until early spring before putting a new set on. They began wobbling a couple months ago (felt like a wheel had not been tightened down properly to the hub, but that was not the case at all). First it was only one tire. I replaced it with the unused spare and all was good. Then just last week another one started doing the same thing. So I guess I won't be waiting until spring after all. Going to have to buy that new set now.

My 2006 LS430 came with newer Hankook 727's and they have been pretty quiet/smooth and seem to handle the snow very well... I was going to replace them because I like Michelins but I will now keep them. The Hankook's still have 8/32's of tread and it would be stupid for me to change them out...

Just got back from Costco. Got the MXV4 for 18" wheels. It is seriously a night and day difference. I got in and drove home and I felt like I got a new LS430... Cost $900 out the door

Sumitomo Brand that came with the car when I bought it. I was confused because I thought LS430's came from the factory with Dunlop? My car only has 35,000 on it now and it needed new tires but a third set with this low miles is weird.

Its time for me replace my tires and i was considering the MXV4 18". I currently have a set Toyo Versado LX's on and i can honestly say that this tire, coupled with how silent the LS is, is by far the quietest tire i've ever rode on. Haven't had a chance to ride in and LS with the MXV4's on but i did in a ES350. Pretty smooth and quiet but cant compare to riding in an LS with the same tires. I would like to give the Michelin's a try but given how much more money they are and the fact that its about the same performance wise compared to the Versado's, im gonna have to stick with the what i know.

hundreds of threads of talking about the gas mileage savings of the michelins and the longevity which in the end reduces the cost per tire over the life by about 80/ tire and people still with the other brands i don't understand what formula is so hard to understand
