Strange noise when I close passenger door?
My front passenger door has a failed door lock actuator (was like that when I bought car). Will replace it myself at some point. The power door closer still works fine. I've noticed that when the passenger door is closed, it makes a strange noise. Almost like a crack or popping noise instead of the thud - almost a metal on metal type noise. Can't find any evidence of what is causing it when I examine door.
Any ideas?

Bueller? Guessing it is evidence of damage that occurred to that door at some point - probably responsible for knocking out the door lock actuator as well. I was going to tell dealer to check the door mounts to make sure everything was positioned correctly next time I take it in.

Doesn't sound like anything loose though. Definitely sounds like the door itself coming into contact with the body of the car. Sounds nothing like the rest the doors when they close. Almost makes you think that if someone slammed the door hard enough the glass would break.
When I get the door as close to the body as possible (before door closers activate) the gap between door and body looks even all the way around. The door molding also appears to be fine.
Who knows... not really a big deal, just an annoyance.
