Default thoughts on this ls430

2006 ls 430 with 39K miles. single owner.
not sure about the package (maybe someone can help me with this).
it does have nav, bluetooth and back up cam. heated and cooled seats in front.
they are asking 24K.

there is another one that i'm looking at that is also 2006 ls 430 with 54K miles.
it is certified for 3 years/100,000 miles.
similar package.
they are asking 25K.

thanks for your insights!

I would confirm that the 2006 that you say is a certified car is really certified by lexus with the 3 year/100,000 mile warranty. I was always told by my dealers that the car has to be less than 6 years old to be certified, and that sometimes the dealer lists it as certified by accident?

This PDF doc may help you determine what package your car has. It is written for the 2005, but should be accurate for the 2006 also. Follow these links:

Both of those sound like reasonable prices for those low mile cars. Wholesale on them at this point is likely $21-22k. Its important that you get the one that's been babied - meaning garaged, washed, and well maintained...in the long run with a 6 year old luxury car getting the cream puff is way more important that getting lowest price.

oh my .. they are all priced as high as a LS460 or higher....I wish i was selling cars again - i would be making a killing on selling low mileage LS430's for the same price as a LS460-- because it seems there are a lot of uneducated buyers doing just that

I am selling a ULTRA LS430 with 113k miles for $13k and its just as grand but grander then any other LS430 with 20k miles- because mileage is a number as the overall treatment of a car is the real buying tool i use and the ULTRA package changes a LS430 into a car on par with the best Mercedes period- the ultra package is the way to go on a LS430 and i WOULDNT have one without it period

why? double layered glass and better leather and lasar cruise and self closing doors and a awesome suspension and a lot more for the price of peanuts compared to what it sold for as a new option so thats why i wouldnt buy any lexus ls430 without it... when buying used- it just is a new game changer

if i was buying a LS430 i would not spend a dollar over $18k on a ULTRA CAR and if i WAS buying a LS460 i would not spend a dollar over $24k on a luxury package car... i dont care about miles and i dont care about warranties.... i have owned a lot of cars and not one was a lemon and not one high mileage car broke down or drove any different then the same car with 100k less miles... and to date i have owned 117 cars personally

My thoughts?? no way in helltown- i AM running and buying MY LS460

Mileage is a number and there are a lot of rollbacks on LS430's I have seen... I have no discretion of mileage and for $25k to own a 2007-2008 LS460 or a LS430? well its a no brainer even if the LS460 has 150k miles on it

Wow - interesting observations, assertions and perspective here. To me mileage is a key factor in measuring overall wear and tear on a car. Granted some folks can destroy a car in 40k miles and other folk's cars still look like new when they have 100k miles but those are outliers rather than the norm.

I don't think I have ever seen a car with more than 15-20k on it that I would call mint condition, and I would never buy a used car that was not in mint condition, so... to me miles matter a lot.

As an aside the LS460 is a fine car but very different from a LS430 and I would personally avoid 07-08 year models, and look to buying a 09 and up model year.

Having said that we definitely like differing perspectives and opinions on the forum so everyone can benefit by seeing different points of view - so there you go.
