Is replacing the radio head-unit in a non-nav LS430 w/ an aftermarket one easy?
Hi,
I've been looking at a lot of LS430s and LS400s and decided I didn't want a LS400 w/ Nav, because if the Nav screen goes out so do the climate controls.
I want a good audio system but realized that the same could happen in the 430 (nav/levinson).
How hard would it be if I bought a Premium Package (no nav, no mark levinson) to install a high end aftermarket audio system?
The Mark Levinson system uses 11 speakers, how many does the standard radio use? Would that even matter if I replaced it with high quality speakers & a good head unit?
I plan on having this car 7-10 years, so I don't want to make a bad mistake.
Thanks
p.s. If it matters, I listen to books on tape, classical, rock, & some electronic. I don't listen loudly, so I don't need lots of power; just high quality (low harmonic distortion).
