Really, I’m a stickler for oem parts.. even down to ball joints and tie rod ends...

But the belt for the 1-2-3uz is really inconsequential. The tensioners have been known to last 300k miles + and the pulley bearings are all high quality. I’ve never heard of a belt squeak problem on one of these engines that didn’t stem from an obvious issue.

I’ve gotten Banjo every time for all 3 of the LS’s I’ve owned and haven’t been able to differentiate between the oem belts that were replaced and none have cost more than 16$.

if you are lucky enough to be familiar with the 90-00’s Ford 3.0 and 4.0s, you would know a bad belt design when you saw one. Very sensitive to proper belt/tensioner function.

Lol yup. But that’s just my opinion though, I’ll never fault anyone for buying oem.
