Problems after fixing door lock actuator? 2002 LS430
Hi, I have a 2002 LS430. The front passenger door would only lock manually so I replaced the motor in the door lock actuator. It worked perfectly for one day, then became tight and would only unlock with the power switch. You could not lock/unlock manually. Now, two days later, the door is back to where it was before. The door can only be locked manually and the power switches have no effect on it.
Does anyone know what might cause this? I did not replace the entire door lock actuator only the small motor that controls it. Could it be something simple, such as a cable becoming loose? It was a brand new motor so I don't think it just went out again.

You are right, it looks like the pieces have moved a bit and misaligned. Such thing can put lot of stress on a small dc motor. I haven't tackled my motor replacement yet but I strongly feel that is the reason.

I have just noticed, when I use the outside door latch feature to UNLOCK the doors (by running my fingers over the sensor inside the latch), that the rear passenger door does not unlock. The 3 other doors unlock fine. Of course, if I use the portable Smartkey unlock button all doors open, or if I use the key itself all is fine. But what would cause 1 door not to unlock using the touch feature?
Is this a Door Lock Actuator problem?
