Premo Woe's
4.27 at the pump in Wisco, regular 3.85 Last year difference was 20 cents I was happy to pay it to get non eth gas. Have to dip into my fine wine budget start buying rice beer. Wow let me think about that no rice beer no non 91 octane, some things ya just don't touch.
What are you folks paying at the pump this Mem Weekend start of driving season?

Gas out here shot up over 70 centa putting the cheap stuff with ethanol at $4 a gallon. Premium was around $4.75 I think.
My LS and other cars aren't going to get driven until much until gas prices go down. Right now gas is the highest I've ever seen in our area.

That's weird. I'm in Oklahoma City and usually prices are close to what they are in Texas. Gas went down twenty cents but it's still a lot higher.

hmmmm.... Quick Trip... not to pirate the thread....
But recently a buddy and myself have found distinct performance differences between discount gas and the big guys...
We both have older model Toyotas( 4runner/180k and Prius/110K)... we had check engine lights come on for O2 sensor issues... you know the P420... mine was kind of off and on and then figured out that it only came on when I used the discount gas. When his came on I suggested he fill up at Texaco when it was empty..30 miles later the light went off.
After my light was off for a few months, I was anxious for gas one day and stopped at QT for gas... sure enough about 40 miles later the CEL comes on... so now I need to run that out and switch to the big guys.
Sure, chances are the O2 sensors need to be replaced... but when they are marginal it easily shows the difference in the gas quality... IMHO, of course. Just sharing my own experiences. Yours may vary...

In general any of brand that is listed as a Tier 1 gas supplier uses a quality additive package to add to the local wholesale gas they buy. And the quality of the additive package that they purchase from the wholesale distributor is the only possible difference in term of gas "quality" between local brands/sellers, the rest is marketing smoke and mirrors. In almost every region of the US every single brand and local seller buys their gas from the same local gas wholesale distributor. So your local Shell, Mobil, Exon, Valero, Murphy, Costco, QT, etc., all buy the exact same gas from the exact same local wholesaler. Only difference is additive package. Note this assumes storage tanks and quality control at the dealer are basically same but actually there can be variances in this part of the equation.
