Default Poor Transmission Shifting in Turns

I have read about a TSB for transmission shifting at low speeds. Does anybody know the # of the TSB and does it work? I have an 06 ls 430 that seems to downshift all the way to first gear when taking a slow turn at around 20 mph, it is very unsmooth. It sems others have had this issue. Is there a fix? It ruins an otherwise very smooth driving experience. Help........

Yes the flash update works, I had that same issue when I had mines. There is a thread on this topic with other owners discussing.

I have this same problem with my 2006. The transmission does not shift smooth like you describe but also taking off from a red light at about 20-25 mph it does the same thing....think I need the update as well?

I believe the.TSB was only for 2004 and maybe some 2006. I don't think this issue affected the'06, buy i could he wrong. J had it done on my '04 and it helped immensely.

I'm curious. I bought an 04 three months ago, great car except for this issue. I was attempting to make a left turn on a busy 4 way blvd, traffic was almost bumper to bumper oncoming, and it was taking forever it seemed. I had a small opportunity when there was finally about a 4 car length gap in oncoming to turn left.

I knew with 320 ft lbs or torque that I had the power to make it, rolling at around 10mph, so I pressed the accelerator about halfway and cut it sharply left. The RPM's went up but the LS barely moved. I barely made it out of the intersection and then LATER came a surge of power. Um... my grandkids were strapped in the back seat! I KNOW, don't judge me please (I wasn't aware of this issue, then).

Anyway, I really need to fix this after that scare. But these threads concerning the TSIB adjustment are from 2004. If I take my LS430 in to a Lexus service dept. now to have this done here in 2013, will there be a cost involved?

I have viewed the 12/2004 thread concerning the fix, but I didn't know if anyone responses this old..

When I got it done a few years back it still fell under some 8-year emissions rule, so it was free. Recently, others have had it done here and it's about $150 it seems now. It will solve the issue you describe.
