Tranny slipping
I started my LS this morning and drove up the driveway slowly. I noticed it slip a couple times VERY briefly. Once under way, it performs normally. Is this a sign of something serious? I have about 113k miles on the car.

Sounds like a flush would be in order. Otherwise I know where ya can get a used tranny with 50 k on it. Sounds like a trip to the dealer is in order. I do not hear to many posts on tranny problems.

I'd agree......I don't hear about too many tranny issue for the LS430.
If you reset your TCU and don't get any positive results, I'd check the next simplest thing: possibly low on tranny fluid.

No dipstick or fill tube on the AT on a 2004-2006 LS430. AT is not gonna be low unless the sealed AT unit is leaking somewhere.
IF you feel trans acting weird at over 100k miles, you should have all the AT fluid replaced in the trans ASAP using a shop or dealer that has a AT fluid replacement machine build for that purpose. Cost at dealer for full AT fluid replace (think its about 9 quarts but check manual to be sure) on 2004-2006 LS430 is typically around $200 if you shop around for best price. Note full AT fluid replacement service is not an AT flush service - most folks advise against doing an AT flush on high mileage ATs as the flush can cause problems by blowing debris around inside the AT. Understand exactly what service is being performed. I do a lot of my own maintenance on my LS but given that the AT is sealed and how much a Lexus AT costs to repair I will be taking my LS to my local dealer for AT fluid replacement service when its time to do mine.

Rpm at 5-6 80mph
Driving 70-80 mph the RPM going up to 5-6 with just light Acceleration you feel the car as no forward momentum for 1-2 seconds
this happened after check engine - check vcs TRACK OFF was lid

The same thing happened to my 1998 LS 400, at about 200,000 miles, backing down my short steep driveway and at the bottom in the street, the transmission would disengage for several seconds. I couldn’t find a solution even at the dealer so I bought a used 60k mile transmission off eBay and had it shipped to a mechanic for installation. I suspect it was related to once when we had to have it towed and had to use the transmission release button (locked up on a small slope) next to the shifter under the small cover. But I also do a lot of mountain driving and there’s a lot of down shifting mostly 4th and 3rd, but occasionally 2nd, and 1st, to save the breaks.
