LS430 stock front suspension specs?
Hi guys,
The car has about 65 000 miles on it and probably still on its original shocks.
I have put wider tires on it (255's) and the front tires rub a little against the fenders when I hit a bump while turning.
I would like to know how high the car sits above the wheels when new. Because I'm wondering if it's the 10 years of heavy weight on the shocks and coil springs that are starting to show or simply because I'm out of specs with the 255s. Maybe it's time for me to refresh the shocks and or coils?
Thanks

What are tire and wheel specs?
You can use this to get some approximate tire size comparisons.

Shocks may be gone. Shocks depending on brand/quality can last 100K or more. The OEM units in mine were dead by 60K. The coils unless in salty environments that show corrosion do not often have problems under normal conditions. Many of the cars we've had that have gone long term of 200K+ miles have not had spring issues.

Thanks!
I guess it is not the coils then. This car never seen winter and does not live near the sea.
As far as size goes, I checked the dimension before I got them. The circumference is within the proverbial 3%. I was more concerned about the extra width. So old springs will not sit lower at rest. Ok.
I know that dead shocks will make a bouncy ride and sorry for the noobish question but will they also start to sit lower at rest when their getting old or bottom out more easily?
Thanks again.

From a local mechanic I talked to during a vehicle inspection, the strut/shock is usually the main/primary issue. Springs usually last a lot longer aka don't need replacing.
