Default AC module

So my A/C stopped blowing cold air. Took it in and compressor was replaced. But now it seems that the A/C module part #88650-50401 is broken. (2002 LS430)

A new one is $900, a used on with same part number on ebay is $300, BUT I found one from a 2003 model part #88650-50403 for $75.

Will the 2003 model work or do I have to find the right production date model, i.e. another #88650-50401?

This A/C problem is getting really expensive.

A shop that I've been to before. The mechanic showed me the board inside the module and it was fried/burnt.
