What?!?! You just said market value is $19k so buy it for $25k it's a steal? Almost brand new, I teach martial arts, I could say I'm almost Bruce Lee.

I think this one comes down to what a person is willing to pay for a pristine Southern LS430 with 12k miles on it. With those miles on a car like LS430 it is very close to buying a brand new LS430. But it is 2005 and already 8 years old. So the average buyer and the market only values that car at maybe 19k on a good day. That's because the average car buyer is happy to buy a 2005 car with a lot more miles on it. I would say this specific LS430 is more for a person that is a collector or has a very specific love for the LS430 (like me). So for the average buyer this car at 23-25k is not a good deal. At 17-19k this same car would be a great deal for almost anyone interested in a used LS430 (unless they rejected Premium version because they insisted on having that fine "state of the Ark" Lexus DVD based NAV system : ).

Default more thoughts

I intend to drive the wheels off any vehicle I buy. I am in love with the ls430. But I have been told by people whose opinions I respect that cars age with time as well as miles, just not as much of course. Also I believe these mechanical things are engineered to be driven and like all systems entropy is a factor. I believe it is a plus that the mileage is credibly represented to have been spread smoothly over the time, so its not like it set up for a year or so and not driven at all. Nevertheless I bet some seal-like maintenance will rear its ugly (and sometimes expensive) head. My decision variable is that I believe market price is about $23k and it just pains me to pay over market for anything and 2k is not a trivial amount to me. Having to sell my 2003 and eating the sales tax on its trade in value annoys me too. I know, I know - I bet I will regret passing on this also in the next year or so. But I have passed the contact information to another member so maybe someone here will benefit.

Thanks again everybody!!

I agree completely. Low mileage is nice and all but being in the auto service industry, I see issues with extremely low mileage cars. It's been said a few times but seals will certainly go if it hasn't been turned on. For that price you could get a UL with a little higher mileage AND buy a set of awesome wheels...

Put the low miles aside for a minute - do you love the color combo (white on what?). If you do then seriously consider it, If you are just OK with the color combo and mainly interested in the low miles, I think you will regret it.
FYI - I live in Dallas and just bought a 2006, 1 owner, 67k mile CL pkg from Sewell in Fort Worth for $21,350.

25K seems alot for a base. i got my 2005 base with 54k miles for $16,000 and it only had minor dings. now that was a steal, i say look for more options since you already have a 03 LS

Nice car ! But will the bank finance it based on condition, miles etc. KBB is a place to check value. But I'm a dealer. Always looking for a deal ! I got a 132xxx mile deal. Under $10,000 it's a beauty. I Bought a 2002 clean Cadillac Deville $2600.00 82,000 miles. Loaded E&G classic top chrome wheels. Nice , not perfect ! Put vogues on, and it's a beauty. Cause I saved $$$$$

Are we still allowed to use that word? Shouldn't it be African American book?

Kelly, Black, Nada, Edmunds what ever is out there the most accurate value of price, resale, trade in is the Auction Price. A dealer buys can't sell it that is where last resort is.

Who knows what the bank uses but usually far from Auction Price.

I bet Auction on this one would be 18,500 but they are all lumped together with little description.
