This thread makes me feel good about the belt and perifferrials I had replaced on mine at 179,00. It was just coming due so I had the deler do all the replcement before I took delivery of the "new to me" car. Maybe I didnt need to do it,but I feel comfortable now knowing that they do actually break occasionaly. I originaly was goinng to buy the car without replacinng the belt and pump becauuse I could get a used enginne fo $2000 so I resoned the "new" engine was just slightly more than the $1600 for the service. But then I realized tthe work needed to put in the engine AND where would I be when the belt broke....in the middle of a hurricane trying to escape in Death valey?
Glad I paid the $1600
