Motor and Transmission Mounts

I'd say around 100k miles. If they're not shot by then they will be soon. I'd advise doing most of the vulnerable rubber under the car around this time, rather than replacing rubber parts one by one as they wear out. I'd rather do everything at once and have a new-car feel than be screwing around with trips to the shop to replace a worn part here and there for the next 100k miles, plus your car will never feel completely new as long as a couple parts are near the end of their lives. Replace the steering bushings, motor and trans mounts, and any suspension bushings that have any visible wear, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. Rubber parts that seem to rarely go bad are subframe mounting bushings, diff mount bushings, and driveshaft flexible guibo couplings.

The way a car is driven and its age will also be factors. I am in an urban environment so my car takes a beating more than someone who lives in an area with smooth roads and lots of highway driving. At 135k miles I had two broken motor mounts, and I wasn't sure how long they had been broken. The car sure felt better when they were replaced.

The motor mounts are bushings as well. Just with a bit if metal attached. If anything, order the parts yourself and just pay for labor only. As I mentioned in other threads, Dealers will often be willing to match independent shops labor quotes.

I replaced all 3 of my mounts about 2-3 weeks ago. Made a world of difference, they weren't broken but they were quite compressed from 13 years of use and 134k miles of general wear. Its as smooth as glass now and i cant hear or feel any vibes. My 13 year old LS runs and feels better then any new or used car Ive owned thus far.... and trust me ive owned MANY MANY cars. (Think as in 23 cars so far)
Here is the picture of my 13 year old mounts vs new.
