It may be unlikely to get a response from that poster who has not posted on the forum for nearly four years. You may have already seen this thread discussing the job which does not directly answer your question: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...placement.html

Here's my thread on the oil pan reseal without lifting the engine that still has pictureshttps://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...e-removal.html
The problem with leaving the engine or subframe in place is even if it is possible to remove the pan, replacing it without disturbing the fresh fipg will be impossible. It's so tight I'd be willing to bet it will leak again as some areas of fipg will be wiped off when it inevitably touches the oil pump pickup, frame, main cap, the pan rail in the wrong spot, etc during reassembly.

If you go the gasket route, in addition to FIPG, can you zip tie the gasket in place until you line everything up, to make sure the gasket stays in place, then cut the zip ties off?

I've had luck doing that in other cars

Default Oil pan leak

Good information here. I was hoping it is a medium difficultly DIY job. It does not seem that is true. The sealant versus the gasket makes a ton of sense and I can clearly see from cleaning that it does not look like a gasket.

A side note - I am getting a drip from the front drivers side. Somewhere that is near the top of the engine? Not sure what all the parts mounted to the front of the engine are, but maybe the VVT? Anyone provide some guidance? I am going to educate myself on all those parts and how they might be leaking.
