Default Possible Purchase

Good afternoon!

I've been in the market for a few months and have located what I think I want. I'm looking for some validation on my negotiating skills!

I located a 2005 LS430 Flint Mica with Ash interior. 61K on the clock. Exterior is pretty good with the occasional chip, etc. Interior seems to be perfect and in worker order. All services have been done at the local Lexus dealer. I don't have navigation so I'm guessing I have a pretty basic model. Anyway, they've come to $19,000 for me from the list of $20,850.

From what I've seen, this seems fair for the car but I thought I'd approach the experts!

Thanks!
Matt

That's a fair deal for year and miles if she's clean and checks out. Just bought my 05 for about the same price and its 1 owner full service history with 66k. Premium package

That seems like a good price for the mileage. Has the timing belt/water pump service been done? if so...that'll save you around $ 1800.00.

The 60K mile service has been completed but the pump / belt service has not been done. All service done at Lexus dealer and they advised the belt was still in good shape and no apparent leaks on the pump. I'm going to go ahead and buy it pending their repainting of certain nicks and a scrape.

I also took it to the independent shop that I use and they were amazed at how well the car had been maintained and the lower miles. It was a CPO in early 2006 and had almost 30K on the odometer then.

Goodbye, Lincoln Town Car forum!

Congratulations. Good deal for a dealer. Private owner really is the only way to save money over that price.

Slight update - I went back to the dealer that day with my downpayment and was told they no longer had it. Go figure! Back to the search!

Sorry to hear you were beat out. BTW on the timing belt - mine went 175,000 before replacement and it still looked nearly new.

I thought that price was a bit high and would have thought $16-18k a good number without the Mark Levinson and Nav unless there was a solid warranty, etc. At 60k or thereabouts, the only thing I was replacing was tires and then brakes at 78k. The car is bulletproof.
